Fakenham Olivet Twinning Club

The Club’s Constitution states that the aim of the Club is to foster the twinning established between Fakenham and Olivet by giving encouragement and practical help to individuals, clubs and associations wishing to forge links with or visit Olivet.

Reciprocal biannual visits are made to the two towns and Fakenham will be visiting Olivet in June 2026. Whilst in Olivet our French hosts will wine, dine and entertain us, and we will participate in a full visit programme, organised by the Olivet Twinning Committee, including a Gala Dinner. Although these hosts begin as strangers, the welcome is always wonderful and very special friendships soon develop.

There are members of the Club who were involved at the very beginning, and are still visiting their French friends, demonstrating the strong bonds that can be formed by being welcomed into a stranger’s home in a foreign land.

Apart from the visits the Club holds organises social events for members during the year, some of which are fund-raising events, such as Fish & Chip Quizzes, French themed evenings, walks followed by a lunch and so on.

Members come not only from Fakenham, but from the surrounding villages and there are currently 35 members – you can contact the club or display a printable membership application form by clicking here.

We look forward to hearing from you.
